Apple opened its sixth retail store in the US Saturday, at the Northside Mall in Massachusetts.

As with all Apple's retail outlets, all the Macs on display are hooked up to the Internet. There's also a wide selection of software and hardware, and an expert on hand to deal with customers' technical problems at the Genius Bar.

Apple will be opening a new retail store each week in the run-up to Christmas and Thanksgiving. The company is optimistic that its retail venture will break even by that point, returning a small profit in the next financial quarter.

The next retail outlet to open for business will be at Easton in Columbus, Ohio on September 7.
