This week's second rumour is that Apple is once again securing extensive supplies of flash memory, possibly for a new high-capacity flash-based iPod nano, DigiTimes claims.

The report claims that both Samsung and Hynix Semiconductor have secured major flash orders from Apple.

"Apple is likely to debut a new version of its iPod nano with a larger memory capacity, probably with 8GB of NAND flash, according to industry sources," the report claims.

The report also claims that a seasonal rebound in the MP3 player market seems set to take place.
