Apple has been nominated in several categories for a new award from Pocket-lint.

The annual awards have been dubbed the "Fluffies". These aim to recognise companies for innovative, groovy and great products that have been launched in the last year.

The awards will be held on the December 1 and cover any product launched in the UK since the December 1, 2004. There will be ten categories including the Pocket-lint Readers Award sponsored by Vodafone.

Voting has now opened for the Readers Award (Gadget of the year) for a wide range of products. Apple products include: PowerBook 15-inch; the iPod with video, iPod nano and iPod shuffle; and iTunes running on a Mac mini.

Other categories include: best MP3 Player; best portable media player; the best consumer digital camera; best prosumer digital camera; best PC or console game; best laptop; best GPS receiver; best PDA/Smartphone; best home entertainment gadget; best mobile phone; best lifestyle gadget; and most innovative gadget.

The judges panel includes: Stuart Miles and Peter Jenkinson of Pocket-lint (Jackson also writes for the Daily Star and Zoo Magazine); Nigel Kendall from The Times; David Phelan, Time Out, The Independent; freelance editor Chris Cain and Jonathan Weinberg of The Sun.
