Apple has released Backup 3.1 to .Mac subscribers.
The newly updated software is available both through Software Update and through member's Apple software folders. Backup is Apple’s automated archiving software that’s designed to protect a user’s data.
The company describes the release as offering added support for some backup destinations and addresses file restoration. It also repairs "other issues", according to Apple.
Backup 3.1 is recommended for all users of Backup 3.0.
Significant areas addressed are:
Improved support for iDisk, local hard drives, and some network destinations (Mac OS X Tiger only);
New iWeb QuickPick and updated iLife plan;
Addresses issues with restoring files.
Backup 3.1 requires a G3 or better (including Intel-based Macs), Mac OS X 10.3.9 or Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later.
