Twisted Melon has released new software and a device that allows owners of PowerPC Macs to use an Apple Remote.

The software, mira 1.2, works in conjunction with a USB infra-red receiver and requires Mac OS X 10.4.

mira extends the features of the Apple Remote by adding control for any application on any Mac. It ships with default profiles/settings for over 40 applications.

This release supports Twisted Melon's new Manta TR1 Transceiver (available from the Twisted Melon online shop) as well as all eHome 2005 (Media Center Edition) receivers and transceivers.

Users can also add new profiles and settings without creating them themselves using the Import or Export features.
