Apple is reportedly making a bid to acquire HipSolve Media.

Think Secret reports that Apple has made a $3.6 million offer to take over the company.

HipSolve offers a Windows-based rights management solution that lets labels sell music directly to consumers. It is called iHoopla.

This software aims at major and independent labels and publishers. It makes it possible for them to take 100 per cent control of their catalogues, keep 95 per cent of their revenues and deposit online profits directly into their own merchant accounts. It obviates the need to outsource digital distribution to current sites (such as iTunes) that want to split revenues.
