Brett Miller, an analyst with AG Edwards said that, with the PC industry facing a slump, and consumers deterred by upgrades and product changes, companies are having to rethink their sales approaches.

He congratulated Apple's change of sales-channel, with the launch of its retail stores. The company recently. opened its ninth store

He said: "I don't think there are many applications out there in consumers' minds that will drive them to stores to buy products. Apple's idea is to ambush them in the malls."
