Apple has described its hopes for the Mac OS X email client in a recruitment ad on its Web site.

The job description for an engineer for Mail.app, says: "We are designing a new, world-class email client for Mac OS X – Apple’s next generation operating system."

The advertisement adds "email is the killer app of the Internet", and implores programmers to "join us in making the email experience on Mac OS X better than on any other platform, making the Mac a superior Internet computer".

The ad says that Apple hopes to add a host of features to its app, including instant messaging, group collaboration and streaming content.
