Apple is thought to be planning to change the name of its Rendezvous networking technology to Bonjour, following a legal dispute with Tibco Software, which also uses the term.

It was thought that Apple would rename the technology OpenTalk – the company had filed for that trademark – but it was deemed "too techie" according to Apple Insider sources.

Apple filed for a trademark for the name Bonjour on January 28. In that filing, the company describes Bonjour as "computer software for the automatic configuration of computer networks, computer programs, computer peripherals and other electronic devices."
