Apple cleaned up at the giant National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show this week, launching its new video and broadcast products to critical acclaim – and scooping up no less than five 'best of show' awards.
The NAB awards feature recommendations from three sources: The 2004 Vidy Awards (from Videography Magazine); the Digital Television/TV Broadcast Awards and the Government Video Salutes. Apple won prizes from all three.
Awards are presented by the editors of Videography magazine, Digital Television/TV Broadcast magazine and Government Video magazine.
"To receive an award, a technology must be reviewed by our panel of editors and industry experts," said Videography Group Publisher Cristina Gallo. "The winning technologies reflect innovation and engineering excellence."
"Recognition with a Vidy Award, Digital Television/TV Broadcast Award or Government Video Salute is a true vote of confidence and admiration from these three leading publications," she said.
Apple won Vidy Best of Show 2004 Awards for its new Motion and Xsan products.
Motion also scooped a Government Video Salute 2004 award, and Apple's work with Panasonic to develop support for carrying HD TV-quality material over FireWire also won best-of-show recognition from that source.
HD over FireWire also won a Digital TV Pick of show award.
