Apple is staging two free video-production seminars in October.

Called Lights. Camera. Action! the events are aimed at broadcast and post-production professionals.

Compositing software Shake will be demonstrated on Mac OS X for the first time. The software is behind big-screen hits such as Minority Report, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings.

The first event takes place on October 29 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, while the second is on October 31 at New Century House, Manchester.

A note on the Apple Web site reads: “Far-reaching changes are happening in video production, and, as a video professional, you need to be aware of these changes and the opportunities they afford for you to execute productions on time, on budget and to the highest standards.”

The seminars are free, but attendees must register online.
