Apple will open its second European retail store on Friday April 29 at 6pm, the same time as Mac OS X 10.4 ships globally.
The second European store opens at the Bullring Shopping Centre. As well as a first chance to buy a copy of Apple's next iteration operating system, launch visitors can, "enter a sweepstake to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection valued at over £2,145".
Visitors to Birmingham also benefit from Apple's international Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" launch competition. Vistors to any of Apple's global network of stores on April 29 get a scratchcard, offering them the chance to win a PowerBook G4, iPod or other prizes, (as long as there are cards).
The Birmingham-only Digital Lifestyle Collection prize winner will receive a 20-inch flat-panel iMac with SuperDrive, an iPod mini, a Canon lxus 40 digital camera, a Canon MV800 digital camcorder and a Canon iP6000D printer.
Apple's Birmingham store is located at: Level 3, Upper Mall West; Bullring Shopping Centre; Birmingham; B5 4BU. The first 1,500 people through the doors will receive a free T-shirt.
Apple has also updated its recruitment pages for its three confirmed UK shops, including: Apple's Regent Street outlet; its soon to open Birmingham store and its third confirmed (but not yet open) shop in Bluewater.
