Apple opens it's latest UK store in Cardiff tomorrow, Thursday 22 October at 10:30 a.m.

The St David's 2 venue in Cardiff city centre has places for around 100 stores, with shopping scheme owners hoping that a mix of high-end and discount retailers will prove a hit with shoppers despite the recession. Wales' first John Lewis, the company's second-largest store after London's Oxford Street, is also part of the new scheme.

"Cardiff has 2.9 million residents, and 27 million visitors come every year," Caroline Kirby, director of owners Capital Shopping Centres told Property Week. "We are not looking to project figures. We already have the shoppers here."

According to Property Week, Land Securities and Capital Shopping Centres' 1.4m sq ft St David’s 2 development shopping centre has an estimated rental value of £34m which, assuming a yield of 6.75 per cent, would value it at £500m. There are also 300 flats on the upper floors.

The Apple Store Cardiff is at 63-66 Grand Arcade, St David’s Dewi Sant, Cardiff, CF10 2EL.

Opening times are Mon - Fri: 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m, Sat: 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m, Sun: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
