Steady strong demand for iPods and mobile phones have driven Apple manufacturing partner Hon Hai Precision Industry to a 36 per cent first-quarter revenue gain.

The company saw net income grow from NT$7.3 billion a year ago to NT$9.98 billion in its first quarter.

"Consumer electronics like iPods and mobile phones were the main driver behind Hon Hai's first-quarter sales,'' said Citigroup analyst Kirk Yang.
