Samsung is allegedly converting some of its memory manufacturing to produce flash memory for Apple.

According to DigiTimes, Samsung has begun converting 4 per cent of its DRAM production to flash memory - this is significant because it also represents a 1 per cent drop in the world's DRAM memory supply, the report explains.

The report adds that Apple should "start resuming its flash procurement from both Samsung and rival Hynix Semiconductor after mid-August."
