Apple has taken fourth place in Business Week's latest annual list of top IT companies, becoming the only US firm in the top ten.

Apple manufacturing partner Hon Hai took the number two slot (above Apple). Others in the top ten included Softbank and Nokia. Microsoft took 37th place.

To develop its list, Business Week takes financial data from Standard & Poor's to achieve a shortlist of firms. Companies are then ranked on return on investment, revenue growth, shareholder return and total revenues.
