Apple has officially announced its forthcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2004) with an email to its developer community.

The event – hotly tipped to outshine all previous WWDCs by many online Mac rumour sources – takes place from June 28-July 2 in San Francisco.

The email says: "Join us at this exciting annual event to learn about the latest technologies, get your questions answered by Apple engineers, and make connections with your colleagues in the Apple technical community."

Prices have also been announced: "If you are not currently an Apple Developer Connection (ADC) member, you can join ADC for free and then choose from the following early registration options", Apple says.

Available options are:

"WWDC 2004 E-ticket for $1,295.

WWDC 2004 Getting Started Bundle for $1,695. Purchase a Select membership, register for WWDC, and get great savings on Apple hardware.

WWDC E-ticket 5-Pack, new this year, for $5,180. Save 20 per cent when five developers from your company register together."

"We will continue to update the WWDC 2004 website with conference information as it becomes available," Apple promises.
