Today is Apple CEO and founder Steve Jobs' 50th birthday.

Jobs was born on February 24 1955.

This was the day after the first meeting of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO); and just over a month after the game of Scrabble debuted.

Later that year Winston Churchill resigned as Prime Minister; West Germany became a sovereign nation; communist countries in the Soviet Union signed the Warsaw Pact; Disneyland opened in California; the first edition of the Guinness Book of Records was published; and Juan Peron was deposed in a military coup in Argentina.
