Two US Army Mac-hosted Web sites repelled an attack by a group of Brazilian hackers called the Crime Boys on Tuesday, according to MacCentral.

Two Windows NT servers were successfully hacked, but the Mac OS servers running WebSTAR withstood the attacks.

The two attacked Army sites were www.cpma.apg.army.mil and www.2rotc.army.mil, both pages have now been removed.

US Army Web sites have undergone a number of attacks on its NT servers, prompting its decision to move to Mac OS servers. The decision to switch was prompted by advice from the World Wide Web Consortium, who said Mac servers are more secure than others available.
