Apple fans may be questioning whether he is the right actor for the job, but Aston Kutcher thinks that the role of Steve Jobs was “meant for him”, according to the film’s producer Mark Hulme.

Five Star Feature Films will begin filming their film, “Jobs” next month and intend to release the film by Thanksgiving. If they meet that deadline the indie biopic will also beat Sony’s Jobs biopic to the box office. Sony snatched up the rights to Walter Isaacson’s best-selling Jobs biography last year. Hulme told The Daily: "He is already meeting with folks that knew Jobs. He's working with professionals to get inside the voice. He's letting his hair grow out. I understand he's cancelled all meetings and actually cancelled all other projects."

Despite criticisms that Kutcher is not the right person for the role, Hulme claims Kutcher said he will “prove to the world that this is the right part for him.”

Hulme thinks that his independent film company has an advantage on Sony because work on “Jobs” was already under way when Jobs died last year and also because “we think that it’s in the spirit of Steve Jobs that we are being independent and moving very quickly.”

“Jobs” will focus on the Apple CEO’s early years.
