Charismac has released AudioScribe – its direct-to-disk recording software.
AudioScribe ($14.95) was previously available only as part of the company's Discribe CD-mastering software suite.
The application will record audio direct to disk from sources including voice, acoustic, analogue and digital. The application creates CD-quality, 16-bit, Stereo, 44.1KHz AIFF files that can be added to DV movies, burned to CDs or compressed to MP3.
All Mac built-in sound-input connections are supported. Other features include automatic recording options, built-in gain adjustment for precise audio-level controls, and manual and automatic file-splitting.
Input source, and sample size and rates are all configurable. AudioScribe also offers a sound-level meter display.
