World-class audio company Bang & Olufsen has released software to make its £485 BeoSound 2 MP3 player compatible with OS 9 and OS X iTunes.

The release lets BeoSound 2 owners use iTunes to see the device, and use drag-&-drop to transfer songs into the pocket-sized MP3 player.

BeoSound 2 uses exchangeable Flash memory cards to store songs. It ships with a 128MB card, which the manufacturer claims offers 2-3 hours’ play time. It supports sampling frequencies up to 48kHz and bit rates of 320Kbps.

BeoSound 2 costs £485 including VAT, and is available form Bang & Olufsen's own chain of retail stores.
