MacPlay has announced the imminent release of its sword and sorcery title, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.

The game is compatible with Mac OS X, as well as older Mac operating systems. Features include rendered landscapes, an engrossing plot and the ability to develop non-player character relationships.

It's expected to appear in the UK in the next few weeks and is the sequel to Baldur's Gate. There's a trailer movie illustrating the game on Apple's games Web site. No UK price has been confirmed.

Already available for PCs, the game has received critical acclaim, being named game of the year by MSNBC.

MacPlay president, Mark Cottam said: "This is the first of many key product releases scheduled over the next four months that illustrates our ongoing commitment to Apple and its loyal gaming community."
