Wi-Gear has revealed iMuffs, the first Bluetooth headphone solution for iPod users.

Because it's Bluetooth-based, the solution (which consists of a set of wireless stereo Bluetooth headphones and a small device that sits on top of the iPod) allows users to leave their iPod in their bag or pocket and listen to their music as they like - even up to 30-feet (10-metres) away from their music player.

iMuffs integrate with a Bluetooth phone, so when your phone rings the solution automatically pauses the iPod and rings through the headphones, allowing users to talk through the integrated microphone.

Technologically, Wi-Gear claims the solution is possible using Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Bluetooth 1.2.

A remote control lets iMuff users pause, change volume, skip tracks, and search for music.

In the box, users will get: iMuffs Stereo Bluetooth Headphones, an iMuffs Adaptor for iPod mini, iPod with dock connector, and iPod photo; an AC to USB Power Adapter and a USB Cable. Headphones are battery-powered using rechargeable lithium polymer batteries offering 12-hours playing time.

Price and shipping dates remain to be announced.
