Bose has announced a black version of its SoundDock iPod speaker system, scheduled to ship in May.

In either colour, the SoundDock lets iPod owners access, control, and listen to their music from any iPod with a dock connector.
The systems exploit patented integral signal processing, which automatically adjusts tonal balance so that music sounds natural at any volume, Bose said.

Users also get an infrared remote, while the system itself hosts volume up/down controls. The system charges a docked iPod and will cost £249 (including VAT).
