Apple has stores in the US, UK, France and Germany – and Canada may be next, according to the Financial Post.
This report carries comment from EMI music vice chairman and CEO North America David Munns, who told the paper he expects Apple to launch a Canadian iTunes Music Store "in the near future".
He said: "I saw Steve Jobs [last week] and he is acutely aware the Canadian consumer is knocking on his door," he said. "I'd say it is very much on his radar now."
He also discussed the music industry's new rapprochement with online music services: "We could be accused a few years ago of not doing enough to change with the environment; but you could not accuse us of that now. We're going flat out."
