German software developer Helios made two announcements at CeBIT in Hannover yesterday - version 2.0 of PDF Handshake is now available, and the company is offering its ColorSync XTension free of charge.

PDF Handshake 2.0 is a prepress workflow solution for Adobe PDF files. It offers ColorSync/ICC-based integrated colour management and flexible output options, including Internet printing.

The new version has support for Adobe’s PDF specification version 1.3 and Acrobat 4.0, and it includes support for pre-separated PDF documents, and enhanced PDF printing and OPI capabilities.

Helios also announced that ColorSync XTension for the Mac is now available as a free download from the company’s Web site. It fully supports ColorSync and ICC colour management. It includes ICC tagged TIFF images, TIFF, RGB, Lab and CMYK, separated printing support, composite printing support, scanner profiles and Euro, SWOP and Newsprint print profiles.
