Games developer MacSoft will announce two massive Mac games at January's Macworld Expo in San Francisco. The long-awaited Myth III: The Wolf Age will be available to buy at the show. But perhaps most exciting of all will be the arrival of Sid Meier's Civilization III – the latest upgrade to one of the biggest-ever computer strategy games.

Myth III, which went gold this week, is a prequel to the two previous games. Features include:

- More than 40 unique units each with their own attacks and spells, with over a dozen skeletal animations each.

- 25 single player levels that will challenge every gamer. Conduct sieges, defend the walls and explore labyrinthine dungeons. Battle in sweltering deserts and vile swamps - under rain, wind and snowfall

-Carnage :"the likes of which mortals have never seen". The bodies of the battle-fallen litter the battlefield - their blood flowing down hillsides and tracked by marching boots.

GameSpy Industries will provide multiplayer support for Myth III: The Wolf Age. Gamers may utilize GameSpy to play online battles against friends on specialized netplay maps. The online portion of the game includes multiplayer modes like Capture the Flag, Territories and Steal the Bacon. Plus Mythers may team up with friends to play the single-player game co-operatively.

Civilization III Sid Meier's Civilization III will take centre-stage at MacSoft's booth (4227) at the upcoming Macworld Expo (January 8 – 11). Sid Meier's Civlization III has sold more than one million units on the PC platform, and is one of the most eagerly anticipated Macintosh games for 2002.

Civilization III features a multitude of new features that build on and enrich the Civilization experience.

The game features new combat options of leaders, armies, air missions, bombardment siege, conscription and withdrawal from battle. The enhanced trade system complete with trade routes and commodities to trade adds "an addictive twist to this enthralling empire-building game".

The greatly expanded diplomacy with a conversational interface and bargaining table lets you match wits against history's greatest leaders as you build and rule an empire to stand the test of time.
