Apple's G4 Cube has been named Product of the Year at the Home Office Computing Awards, a US magazine for small and home office (SoHo) users.

Apple's PowerBook G3 took Silver (second place) in the deluxe notebook category. Winners also included Epson, which took Silver in the everyday/desktop printer category for its Stylus Color 900. Hewlett-Packard took first place for its Deskjet 1220C in the professional printer category.

Other winners included: Canon's CanoScan N12220U scanner, and Samsung took first place in both the CRT and LCD monitor categories for its SyncMaster 950p and SyncMaster 770TFT monitors respectively.

Vendors competed for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in 33 categories. The awards were presented at Comdex.

Home Office Computing said: "Apple won product of the year for its G4 Cube, we were attracted to the Cube's classy design and robust performance."
