Disney's home video distribution company Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced its first nine Blu-ray Disc titles, and promised special high-definition TV short movies on some future releases.

The company will release its first Blu-Ray movies in September, including: Dinosaur, Eight Below, Miramax Films' Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and The Great Raid.

A second wave of movies in the new format will follow in October, when Glory Road, Haunted Mansion, Gone In Sixty Seconds, Dark Water and The Brothers' Grimm debut, at least in the US.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Warner Home Video and Lionsgate have previously announced Blu-ray shipping dates. Paramount and 20th Century Fox are also expected to make similar announcements shortly.
