Pixar shareholders voted to approve the acquisition of the animation company by Walt Disney last Friday.

The move means that Disney has completed its takeover of the firm. It issued 2.3 shares of its own stock for each Pixar share. Pixar shares were also withdrawn from the stock market.

Pixar's former owner, Apple CEO Steve Jobs, has now become Disney's largest individual shareholder, exchanging his 40 per cent stake in Pixar for 7 per cent of Disney.
