Macromedia has updated Dreamweaver to version 6.1.

The free Dreamweaver MX Updater for Contribute improves Dreamweaver performance and introduces the ability to administer Contribute sites from within the application.

Contribute is a desktop application that enables non-technical staff to update, and add to, existing Web sites.

Despite the focus on Contribute, Macromedia recommends all Dreamweaver users install the update, which addresses several bugs identified since the application's release.

The company states that users who downloaded Dreamweaver MX from Macromedia's Web site after December 3, 2002 will not need this update. Other users will require it.

A complete list of eradicated bugs is available here. The updater is available for download.
