Iomega has cut 110 manufacturing jobs from its Utah headquarters, in a move to concentrate equipment production at its facility in Malaysia, the company announced yesterday.

The Malaysia plant, in Penang, has traditionally produced a low volume of products, with the bulk being provided in Utah. Prototyping and engineering support will continue in Utah, but all manufacturing will now take place in Malaysia, according to a company spokesman.

Iomega employs 3,500 employees worldwide, including 2,000 in Utah.
