Oracle chairman Larry Ellison, who resigned from Apple's board of directors in September, acquired 70,000 Apple shares, a regulatory filing on Friday has stated.

The options - exercised on November 18 - were for 60,000 common shares at $11.50 each and 10,000 shares for $13.99 each.

The filing was made with the US Securities and Exchange Commission filing according to Reuters.

Apple announced in September that Ellison was leaving his post as director because his schedule did not allow him to attend enough board meetings. He was a director for five years.

Apple's shares were valued at $14.95 on Nasdaq at the close of trading on Friday.
