More than a third of Macworld Online readers believe Power Mac G5s will be announced at Macworld Expo San Francisco.

To a poll asking "what's most likely at Macworld Expo San Francisco?" 36 per cent of the 1,098 respondents replied Power Mac G5s.

Other results included new G4 Power Macs (11 per cent), a 19-inch iMac (15 per cent), iMovie 3 (10 per cent), G4 iBook (seven per cent), iBrowser (six per cent), Apple PDA (four per cent), colour iPod (three per cent), new-look PowerBook three per cent, and Mac OS X 10.3 (four per cent).

One reader's response was: "The question was what is most likely, not what do you want to see. G5s? I don't think so."

"It's time to switch to G5," was one urgent response. Followed by more clamours for "G5 now, go G5".

"It's time for G4 iBooks and G5 PowerMacs," said another reader.

Another voter said: "Oh how I'd love an Apple PDA (personal digital assistant)."

One reader predicted: "Steve Jobs will go on stage and announce new Intel-based hardware and an Apple licensed version of Windows XP that looks just like Mac OS X.

"Another surprise will be the long awaited PDA. There will be no update to iTunes, but iMovie 3 has recently gone Gold Master."

Macworld Expo San Francisco will be held at the Moscone Center from January 6 to 10.
