FileMaker, a subsidiary of Apple, ended its fiscal year reporting a profit of $111 million.

The revenue growth was 29 per cent higher than the previous year's total of $85.8 million, the company said. FileMaker also said it sold more than 1.2 million copies of its software.

President of FileMaker Dominique Goupil said: "Increasing volume licensing sales and market acceptance of the FileMaker Pro 5 product line were important factors for our strong growth."

FileMaker is planning to ship its FileMaker Mobile companion for Palm OS in December this year. FileMaker Mobile will let customers share and synch data between desktop FileMaker databases and Palm devices.
