FileMaker has announced its Business Solution of the Year award for 2005, in conjunction with Macworld magazine.

The company says to its developers: "You may have developed a highly effective or innovative FileMaker solution yourself as a user or professional developer. Or perhaps you would like to nominate someone else’s solution."

The databasing application is widely used within multiple industries - from design agencies and image libraries to education institutions.

The winning developer will receive the FileMaker Business Solution of the Year award, a prestigious Macworld award, and £2,000 of software. The winner and two runners-up will also be invited to a VIP evening at the lavish Macworld Awards on May 19, 2005. Runners-up will also receive £500 of FileMaker software.

The first Macworld FileMaker Developer of the Year Award was won by Traffic, from Sohnar – a management tool built to assist print, publishing, design and marketing companies manage their business more effectively.

To enter the competition, developers must download an entry form. This will be available on the Macworld Web site shortly. Submissions must be received by 5pm on Monday May 2.
