FileMaker is teaming up with training provider Albion to deliver a new solution for e-commerce applications.

Dubbed 'e-contact', the solution has been designed for customer-relationship management, and is built on a FileMaker 5.5 core.

FileMaker 5.5 integrates with Microsoft Office, and can publish FileMaker Pro databases online. Data that it can handle includes contacts, video, images, and graphics. It can also operate on cross-platform networks.

This bespoke version has been tailored for the requirements of online marketing. It collects and stores client information, and all ongoing correspondence, including e-mails, letters, faxes and quotes.

The companies say: "The fact is, emarketing can be a vital addition to the old methods of press, TV, radio and direct mail in the search for the right customers."

Online marketers can also send emails out to selected contacts from within the application, in HTML or standard email. It can also collect and monitor responses to marketing mail-outs.

The companies are running free emarketing seminars on Wednesday July 25 at 9:30am, 12:30pm and 3pm. Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
