A new FireWire-based webcam has been released by FirewireDirect.

The FirewireDirect DV WebCam can capture 30fps (frames per second) at a resolution of 640-x-480dpi.

The WebCam has a data-transfer rate that is quicker than USB cameras, according to the company.

It is possible to engage in video teleconferencing, video email, and create video presentations.

The WebCam has a 0.33-inch CCD (charged coupled device), a detachable base, cable and lens cover. The camera is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 or later and costs $99.
