Nearly 70 companies and organizations worldwide have suggested 200 top-level domains to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

Current names – like .com, .net and .org could soon be joined by new names, such as .own and .now, which were suggested by Nokia.

Novell suggested .dir, while SRI International proposed .geo. Other proposals include .jazz, .software, .wap, .air, .biz, .inc, .kids and .news.

These and other names are listed at www.icann.org.
