Flash memory prices are rising, stimulated by new highs in demand.

News of Apple's announcement on October 12 has also helped drive prices higher, a report on DigiTimes explains, suggesting the new device will also use flash memory.

Flash memory prices rose 1 per cent across the board yesterday, the report explains, with high-capacity memory climbing as much as 2.8 per cent.

It appears buyers are "aggressively placing orders" for such memory, struggling against Apple's unexpected second front for makers of digital music players.
