Google may have plans to reveal its own iTunes competitor, according to Bear Sterns analyst Robert Peck.

In a note to clients reported by Forbes, he writes: "We believe Google is in the middle of creating its own iTunes competitor."

Peck doesn't claim any insider sources at the company on the matter, admitting it's pure speculation on his part, but in the analyst's opinion, such a service would fit Google's stated aim of "organising the world's information".

He speculates the search giant will introduce such a service within 3-6 months.
