Griffin Technology has released Super Res 1.0, a freeware control-panel and control-strip application that offers enhanced control of monitors.

With Super Res, users get a wider range of monitor resolution and refresh rate than the Mac OS offers as standard. It offers nearly 50 different resolutions, and works with all Macs since the Power Macintosh 7200.

Super Res permits resolutions up to 1,920-x-1,440, and is compatible with the built-in video of all Macs, as well as third-party video cards.

Super Res is freeware, and is available for download from Griffin’s Web site.
