French games-publisher Infogrammes has acquired Hasbro Interactive in a deal worth $100 million.

The deal consists of $95 million in Infogrammes shares and $5 million cash. Infogrammes has also signed a 15-year licensing agreement with Hasbro. Under the agreement, Infogrammes gains the exclusive rights to develop and publish games based on current and future Hasbro titles on all gaming formats.

These titles include Monopoly, Scrabble and the entire Atari product line. Hasbro is to receive an annual guaranteed amount based on sales generated from the licensing agreement.

The deal is still subject to shareholder approval, but is expected to reach completion by March 2001.

Infogrames CEO Bruno Bonnell said: "Infogrammes' access to Hasbro's long list of well-known properties fits perfectly with our long-term publishing strategy to become the leader in family entertainment."
