Apple may be preparing to ship new iBook and Mac mini models.

Speculation follows the company increasing the shipment times for both products on its UK online store yesterday. Shipping times for the products have slipped from one to seven or more days.

Apple's UK store went offline briefly yesterday, returning with new build times for Mac minis and iBooks.

Apple frequently increases the build time for Macs purchased through its online stores before introducing new versions of them.

Mac mini buyers are now promised a seven to ten day wait, while iBook buyers must expect to wait at least seven days.

The introduction of longer build times comes as Think Secret reports new part numbers for both products appearing in Apple's channel databases.

That report claims three Mac mini models and two iBook models will be available once the products are refreshed, "perhaps as soon as this week".
