Apple computer has posted a warning in its Technical Information Library. It warns of a compatibility problem between Final Cut Pro 1.2 and the iMac DV.

The note claims that an extensions conflict exists between iMacs and the video-editing programme, this can cause intermittent freezes when the updated v 1.2 of Final Cut is run on an iMac DV. Apple reassures its customers that an update to the problem will be posted in February.

The freeze appears to happen only when FireWire is chosen as the External Video source in General Preferences. Apple says: "Until Apple can certify Final Cut Pro for use on an iMac DV, people who wish to use Final Cut Pro on an iMac DV do so at their own risk, and may encounter issues other than the one described."
