Apple's iMac has celebrated its fourth birthday.
Apple launched its revolutionary consumer desktop on August 15, 1998. It went on to become the biggest selling personal computer in the US from the day of its debut.
The iMac also helped turn Apple's fortunes around, prompting the company's return to corporate health.
Apple's recently launch LCD iMac is a departure from the original form factor. The product designed by Jonathan Ive, is meant to evoke a sunflower.
The design evolved during a brainstorming session between Ive and Apple CEO Steve Jobs in Ive's wife's vegetable garden.
