More money is spent advertising online than on the radio in the UK, according to figures from the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

The bureau found Internet advertising expenditure in the UK grew by 60 per cent in 2004 to £653.3 million.

In comparison advertisers spent £637.4 million marketing on commercial radio in the same period.

According to the bureau's figures, Internet advertising accounts of 3.9 per cent of total advertising spend, while 3.8 per cent goes on radio advertising, writes Digital Media Europe.
