Fujifilm has announced Colourkit 3.0, a new version of its colour-management software for Mac OS X.

ColourKit 3.0 uses Fujifilm’s patented sharpness-profiling system, which automatically calculates and applies sharpening to an image once the final retouching, resizing, and output-processes have been determined. This version offers better control over the edit palettes than before, and users can switch between colour spaces.

The OS X-native version of ColourKit 3.0 incorporates a number of new features, including powerful colour-modelling algorithms. It will be released in May – updates will be available online.

In related news, Fujifilm also announced plans to add FireWire connectivity to some of its professional scanners, including the FineScan 2750 flatbed scanner.
