Organizers have confirmed the dates of the next IPEX exhibition in 2006.

The show will run between April 4 and 11, 2006 at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. IPEX is a global event for the print, publishing and media industries.

The event attracted 65,451 visitors when it ran in April this year. The organizers have been engaged in an active campaign to gather feedback from exhibitors, and will be putting a variety of new initiatives in place at the show to improve it.

IPEX 2006 will be the seventh event. Exhibitions director Trevor Crawford explained: "No other event has tested the venue to the same extent in terms of the amount of equipment on show, or the services and communications technology required by exhibitors.

Eleven halls (78,000 square metres) have been hired at this stage, with the option to take additional space if needed. The organizers have booked the space to form a rectangular shape around the Piazza on the South side of the NEC – this will reduce the distance between halls compared to 2002's show. In different halls, IPEX 2006 will follow the production workflow, including digital technologies, prepress, press machinery, finishing and other topics.

80 per cent of the 1,200 companies exhibiting at IPEX 2002 have re-booked for 2006.
